The concept for this design is based on the ancient aztec statue Coatlicüe- a fearsome figure in the aztec culture. The name translates directly to "snakes her skirt", and I wanted to call that out by making the snake as large as possible, weaving in and out of the letters. Colors traditionally found in Aztec art were used to emphasize the origin of the product.
An extensive amount of research went into the making of this premium tequila. I wanted to reference the ancient aztec civilization without appropriating the culture in any way. To do so, my concept is rooted in research- and what better way to pay respect to a culture than base my tequila on a powerful female figure!
